6 Local Venues to Celebrate New Year's Eve

It’s time to start planning your New Year’s Eve festivities, and Long Beach has plenty of options. Whether you want a family-friendly event, elegant dinner, or to keep on partying well after the ball drops, Long Beach offers plenty of options. Here are some of our favorites, and also an option for a safe and free ride home.

1. Waterfront at Rainbow Harbor

This family-friendly event is running from 5:00 - 10:00 PM and has free admission for all ages. There will be beer and wine for the adults, food, entertainment, live music, and a kid zone that includes face painting. Get there early and you can enjoy a $5 happy hour from 5:00 - 6:00 PM and then settle in for a firework spectacular at 9:00 PM. For some of you the party might only be getting started at 10:00, so Long Beach Transit is offering free buses to Downtown Long Beach so you can find a restaurant, bar, or club to officially ring in the new year.

2. Ring in the New Year at Parker’s Lighthouse

Enjoy a lovely evening on their waterfront patio, complete with amazing views of practically all of the fireworks displays going on in Long Beach. Parker’s is offering a 3-course Prix-fixe menu for $65 per person, and their 21+ lounge event for $25 per person will include complimentary appetizers. Reservations for both dinner and for the lounge area are encouraged. Parker’s Lighthouse knows how to do holidays right, and New Year’s Eve will not be an exception.

3. Fireworks Aboard the Queen Mary

This year you can travel back in time on the Queen Mary and voyage throughout the various decks and ballrooms and experience a fun and unique vintage theme in each one. There will be live music, DJ’s, dancers, dueling pianos, and more. There will also be a stunning fireworks show off the stern of the ship at midnight, just in time to get your midnight kiss. The party starts at 8:00 PM and ends at 1:00 AM. Guests can choose to purchase either general admission or VIP tickets, and its advised to purchase your tickets soon because this popular event sells out every year.

4. Celebrate in Style at the Renaissance Hotel

This New Year’s Eve celebration includes starting out the evening with a Prix-fixe dinner for $65 per person and then leads into a night of dancing and celebrating at SIP LOUNGE. You’ll get to enjoy their giant outside patio with a fireplace. Bottle service and a late-night menu are both available, and they even have free party favors and a balloon drop.

5. Fuego Restaurant at Hotel Maya

There are a variety of packages you can choose from to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Fuego, and you might even want to roll up the next day for their special extended hangover breakfast featuring an omelet and waffle station, bloody Mary bar, and bottomless mimosa specials. For the big night, however, they are offering Fuego Dinner and Luna Patio Party Packages that include a 5-course Prix-fix menu, and VIPs get a view of the Queen Mary for their fireworks show. If you already have dinner plans there’s a Luna Patio Party Package as well.

6.  Night Dive at The Aquarium of the Pacific

This is the third year that the Aquarium is staying open late to celebrate New Year's Eve with their Night Dive team. It’s going to be a fabulous celebration complete with a photo booth, live bands playing in the Great Hall, and DJs spinning in the galleries. Dance the night away and when you are ready for a break you can purchase various snacks and refreshments throughout the Aquarium. You can dress up or dress casually-- it’s up to you. The party goes from 8:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Tickets are on sale now, and both general and Members tickets are available.

Get Home Safely with Long Beach Transit

Long Beach Transit is offering free rides on New Year's Eve starting at 5:00 PM. You can catch the bus at the Transit Gallery on First Street between Long Beach Blvd. and they will run as late as 2:35 AM on New Year’s morning.
