Going out for sushi is always a special treat, and Long Beach offers an eclectic mix of traditional and modern sushi restaurants. Head out for a weekend lunch, evening meal, or romantic date night at one of these top-rated Long Beach sushi restaurants.

39 Degrees

665 Redondo Ave, Long Beach, CA 90814

(562) 439-4025

The motto of 39 Degrees is to provide great quality and service, and that’s also how they got their name. The number 39 pronounced in Japanese is "San-Kyu" which sounds like “Thank You” in English. They specialize in all kinds of Japanese food including sushi, sashimi, and a variety of creative rolls and sashimi specialties. Some of their most famous rolls include Sunrise on Second Street, Sexy Girl Roll, and the R&B Seared Tuna roll.

Aburi Sushi

4201 E Willow St., Long Beach, CA 90815

(562) 426-1188

If you’re looking for a stellar AYCE (all you can eat) spot—this is the place for you! Sometimes AYCE can be a little bit “iffy” as far as getting good quality food goes, but Aburi goes above and beyond to keep all of their dishes high-quality and delicious. Their menu includes a variety of appetizers, traditional rolls, specialty rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. You can even turn AYCE into AYCD (all you can drink) with bottomless hot sake or Sapporo on draft. Happy Hour is from 3 - 6 daily, and there are some really fun and affordable appetizers on the menu including Garlic Chili Edamame, Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice with Sriracha Aioli and Eel Sauce, and Japanese Kurobuta Sausage.

 Sushi on Fire

5325 E 2nd St. Long Beach, CA 90803

(562) 433-0221

With its central 2nd Street location, Sushi on Fire is a Belmont Shore sushi staple. While all of their ingredients are authentically Japanese, the style they prepare them in is a fusion of modern and traditional Japanese sushi. Guests are treated to complimentary miso soup when they are first seated, and then get to choose from a very extensive menu. Some of their most popular dishes include the Refreshing Roll, Jacob Special, 3 Amigos Roll, and the White Roll. If you are looking for a modern spin on traditional Japanese ingredients and preparations, look no further than Sushi on Fire.
